Dirty Soda Saloon Celebrates New Business Opening with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
On Saturday, May 9th, the community gathered at The Dirty Soda Saloon in Virginia City for a ribbon cutting ceremony. Dirty Soda Saloon business owner Jonathan Gardner shared his excitement with the crowd before cutting the ribbon. Gardner is a real estate investor and developer, and is also a Storey County Chamber of Commerce Board Member, leading Economic Development.
Alexia Sober, Director of the Storey County Chamber of Commerce, alongside Board Members Lisa Hevern and John Duffy, presented Gardner with a certificate officially welcoming the business to Storey County.
A representative from Congressman Mark Amodei's office of the State of Nevada also presented Gardner with a certificate and thanking the business for providing a welcoming atmosphere for families in Northern Nevada.
The community is buzzing about the new alcohol-free speakeasy style saloon that requires a password to access from a hidden door inside the Mercantile on C Street. Not only does the saloon offer a new experience for locals and visitors in Virginia City - it's also family-friendly.

Gardner is a fourth-generation Nevadan and has roots in mining. He describes Virginia City as "a very special place for me," and shares his commitment to investing in the local economy. "We hope this can be the first of many things that happen in Virginia City.”
